Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University vice-president and director of athletics Steve Poston announces the appointment of Jeff Gregory as head baseball coach. Gregory replaces Allen Osborne, who resigned to accept an assistant coaching position at another institution.

Wadesboro, N.C.----The passing of former Wingate University head baseball coach Dr. Ron Christopher left a void not only in the lives of his immediate family, but in the lives of many students and student-athletes. I had the privilege of playing three years for Coach Christopher; I can truthfully say those years were three of the best years I have ever lived.

Wingate, N.C.----Long-time Wingate University baseball coach Dr. Ron Christopher passed away Sunday, June 13. He was 74 years old. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 16 at Wingate Baptist Church (109 E. Elm St., Wingate, NC 28174). The service will begin at 2 p.m. The visitation will be held immediately following the service in the Wingate Baptist Church fellowship hall.
