Transferring to Wingate
In order for a member of the Wingate University coaching staff to speak with any prospective student-athlete (PSA) that is currently or has been enrolled at another four year collegiate institution the PSA must first obtain a permission to contact letter/written release from their current/prior collegiate institution. The Wingate University coaching staff member must have a copy of the permission to contact/written release before he/she can speak to a potential transfer PSA. To obtain such a permission to contact/written release the PSA should contact the Office of Compliance at their current/prior collegiate institution.
If a PSA’s institution denies their request for a permission to contact letter/written release there is an appeals process per NCAA rules. NCAA rules require that any appeal be heard by an institutional committee outside of the athletics department. Such a hearing must be heard within 30 calendar days of receiving a student-athlete’s request for a hearing. For more information on the appeals process the transferring PSA should contact the Office of Compliance at their current/prior collegiate institution.
