Wingate University Athletics

Allison Smith went 2-0 on the week, adding a save to lead Wingate to a 3-1 week in league play. Smith had a 2.26 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings of work. 

Smith went nine innings at Newberry, allowing two runs while striking out a season-high 12. She pitched 1 1/3 innings in the nightcap without allowing a run, notching the save. She went the distance against Carson-Newman, picking up her 20th win. She shutout the Eagles in the final six innings to lead the ‘Dogs to a 5-3 win. Smith earned second team all-conference honors, while also being named the SAC Scholar Athlete.
