Wingate University Athletics

The South Atlantic Conference Athletes of the Year are awarded to the top male and female athlete among the 23 conference sports. One male and one female are awarded at the completion of the academic year. The nominees are the winners of Player or Athlete of the Year in the respective sport. The winners are selected by the athletic directors from each conference school. Wingate leads the SAC with 13 Athlete of the Year winners and has the only three-time winner in league history (Jade Montgomery).
