Sophomore right-hander Miranda Paul tossed a pair of shutouts last week, leading the Bulldogs to a 3-1 week. Paul allowed only four hits in 10 innings of work, leading the Bulldogs to a pair of five-inning victories.
Paul started her week by tossing a three-hit shutout against Coker. Paul struck out four without walking a batter as Wingate won 8-0 against the Cobras. She was even more dominant on Sunday at Pfeiffer, tossing a one-hit shutout in the 9-0 victory. Paul struck out four while walking one, needing just 60 pitches in five innings of work. The four hits Paul allowed on the week were all singles.
Paul, who set a Wingate record with 280 1/3 innings of work last season, is 4-0 with a 1.75 ERA this season. She has 16 strikeouts and just two walks in 24 innings of work.
