Wingate University Athletics

Wingate sophomore Cole Henderson established two new individual school records and piled up major points for the Bulldogs as Wingate finished second in the Lenoir-Rhyne Southeast Regional championship meet. The Western Alamance Warrior collected a gold medal in the 400 meters, posting a school-record time of 49.30. His bronze-medal performance in the 200 meters (21.86) was also a school-record time.
 
Henderson ran the inaugural leg as Wingate won the 4x400 meter relay (3:18.35). Henderson was followed by freshman Omar Ray, graduate student James Robinson and sophomore Corey Silvestri. Henderson filled his ledger with a seventh place run in the 100 meters (11.30).
