Junior forward Peron Da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) played a key role in keeping the 10th-ranked Bulldogs undefeated on the season. He had two goals and an assist, leading Wingate to a pair of victories, including a win over #24 UNCP and a victory at Carson-Newman in the SAC opener.

Da Silva's assist in the first half against UNCP tied the game at 1-1, while he also added a goal to make the final margin 4-1. Da Silva scored with 1:12 left in regulation at Carson-Newman, forcing overtime. The 'Dogs would go on to win 2-1 to move to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
