Wingate redshirt senior quarterback Robbie Nallenweg (Asheville, N.C.) earned SAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career Monday afternoon. Nallenweg completed 24-of-28 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns as the Bulldogs led wire-to-wire in a 43-24 SAC triumph over Brevard Saturday afternoon. Nallenweg surpassed 5,000 career passing yards in the second quarter.
For his career, Nallenweg has completed 504-of-731 passes for 5215 yards and 42 touchdowns. He passed the 5000-yard plateau with the second of his two first-quarter touchdown passes to Jordan Berry. Nallenweg and Berry made scoring connections of 48 and 34 yards as Wingate compiled a 14-0 lead after the first quarter of play.
On the season, Nallenweg leads NCAA Division II with his 74.3 percent completion rate (168-of-226). He is fourth in D-II (and first in the SAC) with his 28.00 completions per game. Wingate (3-3 overall, 2-2 SAC) visits league foe Tusculum Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. encounter in Greeneville, Tenn.
