Sophomore libero Maggie Malone averaged 5.36 digs per set over the weekend, earning SAC Tournament MVP honors. She racked up 30 digs in the semifinal win over Catawba, then collected 19 digs in the championship match victory over Carson-Newman.
Malone's huge Sunday included collecting her 1,000th career dig, and setting Wingate's single season record for digs. She now has 574 digs in 2009, and 1,015 in her two-year career.
