With Wingate trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th and final inning with two on and one out in game two Saturday, Senior outfielder Eric Serra connected on a game-winning three-run homer to give the 'Dogs a 6-5 win over Coker, taking the weekend series against the defending regional champions.
Serra hit .545 on the week, going 6-11 with a homer, two triples, a double, six RBI and three runs scored. He went three-for-four Friday night with a double, triple, three RBI and a run scored. Serra capped his week with a homer, triple, three RBI and two runs scored in the game three victory.
Serra ranks sixth in the SAC with a .421 batting average, leading the league with three triples and a .947 slugging percentage. He ranks second with nine RBI and nine runs scored.
