Wingate University freshman Jessika Weiss (Macon, Ga.) won two individual events as the number six Bulldogs won the 2014 Bluegrass Mountain Conference championship meet title Sundaynight at the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center (MCAC) pool in downtown Charlotte.  She earned All-BMC honors in three events.

Weiss broke a seven-year-old BMC 200 Breaststroke meet record held by current Bulldog assistant coach Maria Vlashchenko in Sunday’s preliminaries (2:16.40). Weiss made the statement stick as she touched first in Sunday night’s 200 Breast final with a time of 2:16.99.

On Saturday, Weiss made her first entry into the BMC history books, touching first in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:03.30. Weiss was fifth in Friday’s 200 Individual Medley (2:06.54). The Bulldog women took the lead on day two and didn’t give it back; number six Wingate amassed 1395.5 points to take the school’s fourth BMC title.
