Wingate University track and field freshman thrower Austin Greeson (Burlington, N.C.) broke the WU school record in the men’s javelin throw with a distance of 45.21 meters at the Winthrop Invitational Saturday. The Winthrop Invitational was Greeson’s first competition in the javelin (high school or college). A mid-distance runner by trade, the Southern Alamance High School product stayed busy Saturday, also competing in the 400 meter hurdles (59.75) and the 800 meters (2:08.01).
