Wingate junior Cole Henderson (Elon, N.C.) collected three individual medals (gold, silver, bronze) and ran the first leg of the Bulldogs’ triumphant 4x100 meter relay as Wingate won the inaugural South Atlantic Conference track and field. Henderson was first in the 200 meters (21.70), second in the 400 meters (49.49) and third in the 100 meter dash (10.80).
In the 4x100 meter relay, Henderson was joined by freshman Justin Brown (Laurinburg, N.C.), junior Jacob Burnette (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Shiquel Brown (Jacksonville, Fla.). The Bulldogs’ winning time was 41.28. Seven Wingate individuals and one Bulldog relay team have established NCAA Division II provisional marks. Henderson owns two provisional marks, as he
has an individual mark in the 200 meters and a team mark in the 4x100 meter relay.
