Wingate junior Christina Matheny (Akron, Ohio) won the South Atlantic Conference women’s high jump with a leap of 1.68 meters, recording an NCAA Division II provisional mark in the process. Matheny posted the first NCAA provisional mark in Wingate’s school history during her freshman year.

Matheny scored points in five events for the Bulldogs as Wingate finished second in an extremely tight team race. She was third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.12 meters. In addition, Matheny was fourth in the javelin (31.38 meters), sixth in the 100 hurdles (16.01 seconds) and eighth in the long jump (4.87 meters).
