Wingate University graduate student Benedict Gebhardt (Wiesbaden, Germany) claimed his fourth career medalist honor Tuesday, earning first place in the fifth annual Jay Jennison Memorial Golf Tournament.

Gebhardt was the only student-athlete to shoot three sub-par rounds as he finished at four-under-par 212 for the tourney. He helped lead Wingate to a second place finish at the 15-team tournament, as the Bulldogs fired the low round of the day with a 292 on Tuesday. 

Gebhardt carded rounds of 70, 71 and 71 to finish at four-under for the week, winning the tournament by three strokes. Gebhardt was a first-team All-SAC selection last year. He won the SAC Tournament title by 11 shots in 2014 and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
