Wingate University Athletics

Wingate sophomore Nepolian Patel (Rocky Mount, N.C.) was the top WU finisher in the Bulldog Stampede Saturday, placing 10th with an 8K time of 27:21. The Wingate men finished second to NCAA Division II number 10 Mount Olive in the six-team men’s competition.
 
Patel has been Wingate’s number one or number two runner in every race this season. In the Hagan Stone Cross Country Classic (Oct. 4), Patel was 11th with an 8K time of 26:47.90 as Wingate won the NCAA Division II team competition. The Hagan Stone time was a season-best for Patel.
 
A graduate of Southern Nash High School, Patel is a South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll student. Patel holds a 3.87 GPA as a Pre-Pharmacy major at Wingate.
