Senior outside hitter Susie Murach (Burke, Va.) had a huge week at the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament, leading the 12th-ranked Bulldogs to their third consecutive regional championship and fourth in the last five years.
Murach earned All-Tournament honors, averaging 3.17 kills per set while hitting an impressive .405 in the three matches. The three-time All-SAC selection also had 22 digs, five aces and four blocks on the week, helping Wingate hit a tournament-best .321 for the tournament.
Murach started her week by hitting .522 with 12 kills and nine digs against Erskine in the quarterfinals. She had 10 kills with a .421 hitting percentage in the semifinal win against GRU Augusta, adding four digs and three blocks. Murach piled up a season-high 16 kills in the regional title match against #21 Armstrong State, hitting .312 with nine digs and five aces.
Murach is second on the Bulldogs with 2.69 kills per set, hitting a career-best .266. She went over 1,000 career kills earlier this season. Murach ranks 11th in the SAC in kills and 10th in hitting percentage.
