Wingate University senior Christina Matheny (Akron, Ohio) won the East Tennessee State University Buccaneer Invitational women’s high jump at the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center Friday. Matheny posted a leap of 1.74 meters, outdistancing UNC Wilmington junior Emily Kimble (Swannanoa, N.C.) by 0.06 meters.
 
On the national high jump scene, Matheny is tied for fourth with her 1.74 meter effort from the ETSU event. Central Missouri freshman Erika Kinsey (Nalden, Sweden) has the top indoor leap in Division II this season at 1.90 meters.
