Junior infielder Mellena Helms (Concord, N.C.) went 10-for-19 on the week, scoring 10 runs while adding a pair of homers and six RBI, leading the Bulldogs to a 5-1 week which included a 4-0 mark in SAC play.
Helms scored multiple runs in all five victories. She started her week by going three-for-four with two RBI and two runs scored in the Queens win, while going three-for-three with a pair of runs scored in game two of the doubleheader. Helms drew a pair of walks in game one against Mars Hill, scoring twice and driving in a run. She was two-for-three with an RBI and two runs scored in game two. She hit a pair of homers in Wingate's 4-2 win at Limestone on Sunday.
Helms leads the Bulldogs with a .404 batting average, adding five homers, 13 RBI and 26 runs scored.
