2014 AVCA third team All-American Abby Saehler (Iowa City, Iowa) had a big week for the Bulldogs, leading No. 23 Wingate to a 4-0 week that included a pair of league wins.
Saehler hit .316 on the week with 3.69 kills, 2.0 digs and 0.77 blocks per set. She had double-digit kills in all four matches, starting with an 11-kill effort against UNC Pembroke in just two sets of action. She had 11 kills and 11 digs against Erskine, hitting .391 with two blocks and an ace. Saehler hit .333 against Tusculum with 13 kills, seven digs and four blocks in the three-set win. She had 13 kills, five digs, three blocks and an ace in Saturday's win against Mars Hill.
Saehler is third in the SAC with 3.37 kills per set, ranking third in blocks per set and seventh in hitting percentage. The preseason All-SAC selection ranked in the top 20 nationally in hitting percentage in 2014. She registered her 500th career kill in Friday night's win against Tusculum.
