Wingate University freshman forward Odell Turner averaged 15.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game while leading Wingate to an impressive 3-0 record on the week. The Bulldogs have now won four straight games, and are 2-0 in the SAC. Wingate is in a first place tie in the league, and one of only two remaining teams without a conference loss.
Turner had 18 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks while hitting six-of-nine shots from the field as Wingate overcame a 16-point second half deficit for a 73-66 win over GCSU. Turner followed that performance with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 69-66 victory at Armstrong Atlantic State. He finished his week with 16 points, five boards, three blocks and three assists as Wingate improved to 2-0 in the SAC with an 86-71 win over LMU. Turner shot 51.6 percent from the field on the week.
Turner leads the team with 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game on the year, ranking in the top 20 in the league in both categories. He also ranks fourth in the SAC with 1.77 blocks per game, and 13th with a field goal percentage of 52.6.
