Wingate junior Alyssa Johnson (San Jose, Calif.) finished second in the 2015 SAC championships Saturday morning. Johnson earned first team All-SAC honors. 

Johnson posted a time of 18:40.6 in the 5K race, leading the Bulldogs to their third consecutive SAC title. Johnson was one of eight Bulldogs to finish in the top 16 on Saturday. She finished just ahead of senior Samantha Haering, who was third with her time of 18:56.6. 

Next up for Johnson and the Bulldogs is the 2015 NCAA Southeast Regional, which will take place at Wingate University on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Bulldogs will be looking to make their third consecutive trip to the NCAA championships.
