Wingate University redshirt freshman cross country runner Sydney Lautzenheiser (North Canton, Ohio) was the top finisher for the Bulldogs in Saturday's NCAA Southeast Regional meet. Lautzenheiser finished 11th overall as Wingate finished second to earn a third straight trip to the NCAA championships.
Lautzenheiser was one of three Bulldogs to earn All-Region honors on Saturday. She posted a team-best time of 23:50.8 in the 6K meet, two seconds ahed of senior Sam Haering (Chalfont, Pa.). Junior Morgan Neher (Sedalia, Colo.) finished 14th on Saturday.
Lautzenheiser and the Bulldogs will compete in the NCAA Division II national championship meet Saturday, Nov. 21 in Joplin, Mo. Missouri Southern State University hosts this year's event at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
