Bulldog junior Vika Arkhipova (Seversk, Russia) had a hand in two new Wingate Natatorium records Saturday, boosting her team to a 174-133 victory over NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb University in a two-day dual meet.
 
In Wingate’s triumphant 400 Medley Relay swim to open Saturday’s competition, Arkhipova set a new pool record in the 100 Backstroke. Later in the day, Arkhipova won the 200 Backstroke with a new pool record time of 2:02.71.
 
On Friday at Gardner-Webb, Arkhipova led a 1-2-3-4 Wingate charge in the 100 Backstroke. She won the gold medal with a time of 57.08. Earlier in the day, Arkhipova helped Wingate win the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:33.27.
 
Wingate will take a competitive break for the Thanksgiving holidays. The Bulldogs will host the Wingate University Fall Frenzy Dec. 4-6 in Rock Hill, S.C. The Rock Hill Aquatics Center is the site for this year’s event.
