Wingate junior Sofia Petrenko (Arkhangelsk, Russia) won two events in the recent Bluegrass Mountain Conference championship meet: the women’s 200 Individual Medley (1:59.93) and the women’s 200 Butterfly (1:59.48). She set a new BMC meet record in the 200 IM.
                                
Petrenko helped the Bulldogs finish second on the BMC team charts as she won two gold medals and four silver medals. Petrenko established four NCAA Division II “A” cuts. In addition to the aforementioned “A” cuts in the 200 IM and the 200 Fly, she swam “A” standards in the 400 Medley Relay (3:39.85) and the 400 Individual Medley (4:17.60).
