Wingate sophomore Jerome Heidrich (Hamburg, Germany) swan the first leg on Wingate’s Bluegrass Mountain Conference gold medal-winning 800 Freestyle Relay quartet in the recent BMC championship meet. The Bulldogs touched first with an NCAA Division II “A” cut time of 6:29.12.
 
Heidrich helped the Bulldogs finish second on the BMC team charts as he won one gold medal, four silver medals and two bronze medals. Six of his seven swims were NCAA “B” cuts, including second-place finishes in the 100, the 200 and the 500 Freestyles and the 400 Freestyle Relay.
