Wingate junior midfielder Paulena Dempsey had nine goals and three assists as Wingate earned its first two victories of the 2016 season.

On Saturday, Feb. 20, Dempsey posted six goals and one assist in a 20-4 road victory at Chowan. Earlier in the week, she recorded three goals and two helpers as the balanced Bulldogs earned a 13-9 home triumph over Belmont Abbey on Feb. 17. For her efforts, she was named the South Atlantic Conference women’s lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.
