Wingate University junior midfielder Paulena Dempsey (Jarrettsville, Md.) posted six goals and seven assists (13 points) as the Bulldogs won two games last week. Dempsey shared the team lead with five goals as the Bulldogs collected a thrilling 17-15 come-from-behind victory over NAIA number one SCAD-Savannah Wednesday. She added two assists against the Bees.
 
Dempsey scored one goal and dished out a team-best five assists in Wingate’s 15-8 South Atlantic Conference road victory at Coker Saturday. The league named Dempsey the AstroTurf SAC women’s lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts. Dempsey earns the honor for the second time this season and the second time in her career. The Bulldogs (7-4 overall, 2-2 SAC) have won four of their last five contests. Wingate hosts Catawba Saturday, April 2 for a 12 noon league encounter.
