Wingate University sophomore Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) earned SAC men's tennis Player of the Week honors Monday morning. DuToit capped an undefeated season in SAC singles action last week, picking up three wins at five singles as the No. 48 Bulldogs picked up victories over Queens, Coker and Anderson.
DuToit won 6-3, 6-1 at number five singles in the 6-3 win over a Queens team that was unbeaten in league play. He rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the Coker win, while capping his week with a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the Newberry match, as the 'Dogs won 5-4 to clinch at least a share of their third straight SAC title and sixth in eight years.
Not only is DuToit unbeaten in SAC singles action this year, he has not dropped a set in any of his 11 matches against league opponents. The sophomore also went undefeated in SAC singles play last season, making him 22-0 all-time in singles play against league opposition. DuToit is 31-8 overall in singles play during his career.
