Wingate sophomore Madison Hiatt (Fresno, Calif.) shared the SAC Track Athlete of the Year award with three student-athletes, helping Wingate finish second in the league meet. Hiatt won the 800 meters with a new Irwin Belk Track stadium record time of 2:16.70. A transfer from California Baptist, Hiatt won the 1500 meters with a time of 4:41.58.

In the meet-concluding 4x400 relay, Wingate posted a time of 3:57.54 to secure a silver medal. Hiatt was joined by freshman Gianna Thompson (Piscataway, N.J.), junior Destiny Todd (Fort Mill, S.C.) and senior Lauren Calhoun (Fayetteville, N.C.). Hiatt helped the Bulldogs win their third consecutive SAC women’s cross country title last fall.
