Senior right-hander Stacey Houser earned SAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the fifth time in her career last week. Houser was dominant, going 3-0 while allowing just one earned run in 24 innings of work. She allowed only 11 hits on the week, while striking out 11.
Houser started her week by leading Wingate to a 4-2 win at Catawba in 11 innings. She went all 11 innings, throwing 141 pitches while allowing just one earned run on six hits, striking out three. Houser celebrated Senior Day in style on Saturday, tossing a pair of complete game shutouts against Anderson. She tossed a three-hit shutout in game one, striking out six in the 1-0 win. Houser tossed a two-hitter in game two, adding two more strikeouts. She allowed just one extra-base hit in 13 innings of work Saturday.
Houser is a four-time all-conference selection. Wingate's all-time leader in wins, innings pitched, complete games and shutouts, Houser is 21-12 with a 1.48 ERA this year. She ranks second in the SAC in wins, third in ERA, opponents' batting average and shutouts, fourth in complete games and innings pitched and sixth in strikeouts.
