Shane Billings was named Wingate's Male Athlete of the Year at the 2016 WUSPYS. A consensus first team All-American in 2015, Billings earned first team All-SAC and All-Region accolades as a senior. After ranking in the top two nationally in hits and runs in 2015, he ranks fourth in both categories in 2016.
Billings hit .444 during his junior season, piling up 96 hits while collecting 16 doubles, seven triples and four homers, driving in 36 runs while scoring 74 times. He compiled a .502 on-base percentage and .639 slugging percentage while stealing 30 bases in 32 attempts.
The league-leader in average, runs, hits and stolen bases, Billings ranks fourth nationally in hits and runs, ranking ninth in average, 13th in stolen bases and 14th in triples. He finished third in the conference in total bases, fourth in on-base percentage and eighth in slugging percentage.
