Wingate University senior All-American Abby Saehler (Iowa City, Iowa) earned SAC Player of the Week honors fo the second time this year and the fourth time in her career on Tuesday. She had a huge week for the undefeated Bulldogs, hitting an impressive .485 in three matches, piling up 4.11 kills per set to go along with 1.78 digs and 0.44 blocks per set, adding three aces.
Saehler helped 25th-ranked Wingate pick up three more SAC wins, including a victory over previously undefeated-in-SAC-play LMU nd defending regional champion Carson-Newman. She had nine kills and two blocks in the sweep over Newberry. Saehler piled up 14 kills in the 3-0 win over LMU, handing the Railsplitters their first league loss while hitting .524 while adding eight digs. The All-SAC and All-Region selection from last year hit .542 in Saturday's sweep over Carson-Newman, with 14 kills and seven digs to go along with a block.
Saehler is second in the SAC with 3.57 kills per set, ranking fourth with a .323 hitting percentage. She also contributes 2.15 digs and 0.57 blocks per set for the Bulldogs. Saehler has 871 kills in her illustrious career, with a .313 hitting percentage.
