Wingate University cross country senior Alyssa Johnson (San Jose, Calif.) earned All-SAC honors for the fourth straight year Saturday afternoon, helping the Bulldogs finish second at the 2016 SAC championships. 

Johnson finished fifth at the SAC championships on Saturday in Columbia, S.C., earning first team All-SAC accolades for the fourth time in her illustrious career. Johnson posted a 5K time of 18:33.3 to finish fifth in the race. The four-time all-conference selection is a two-time All-Region honoree, while also earning Academic All-America accolades twice in her career. She is also a two-time SAC Scholar-Athlete. 

The second-place Bulldogs are ranked fourth in the most recent USTFCCCA Southeast Region rankings. Wingate will participate in the NCAA Southeast Region championships next Saturday in Montevallo. The Bulldogs are looking to make a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA championships.
