Sophomore guard Mike Baez (Orlando, Fla.) continued his hot stretch on Saturday, scoring 21 points to lead the Bulldogs to a convincing victory at Mount Olive on New Year's Eve.
Baez scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, helping the Bulldogs jump out to a 19-point halftime lead. Baez finished the day going eight-for-13 from the field and five-for-eight from three-point range, adding five assists in the 84-61 victory.
Baez has scored in double figures in each of his last nine games, scoring 20 or more points in five of those contests. The All-SAC Freshman team selection from last year leads the Bulldogs with 14.7 points per game, adding 6.4 rebounds per contest while ranking second on the team with 21 threes.
