Wingate University sophomore forward Danasia Witherspoon (Hickory, N.C.) earned AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career on Monday for her efforts in a pair of Wingate wins last week. 

Witherspoon averaged 18.5 points per game and converted 65.4 percent of her field tries as the Bulldogs earned two SAC victories last week. She added 5.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 blocks per game to her two-game statistical ledger.
 
On Saturday, Witherspoon posted 20 points (on 10-of-14 shooting) as Wingate handed number five Lincoln Memorial its first loss of the season 71-69. On Wednesday, the Hickory High School product recorded 17 points and six rebounds in a 61-54 victory over Newberry.
 
On the season, Witherspoon averages 14.2 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. She converts a team-best 53.7 percent of her field goal attempts (116-of-216).
