Sophomore right-hander Rachel Weidner (Greenville, N.C.) tossed a pair of shutouts last week, leading the Bulldogs to a 3-1 week.
Weidner allowed just three hits in her 12 innings of work, piling up 16 strikeouts. All three hits allowed were singles. Weidner tossed a two-hit shutout against Queens, striking out five in the 5-0 win. She piled up 11 strikeouts in a five-inning shutout against Brevard, giving up just one hit in the 16-0 victory.
Weidner is 11-8 on the year with a 2.38 ERA. She has 111 strikeouts in 141 innings of work, collecting 15 complete games and six shutouts, notching a pair of saves on the season.
