Wingate redshirt senior wide receiver Delric Ellington had 10 catches for 173 yards and three touchdowns (all season-highs) as the Bulldogs defeated Newberry 49-33 to clinch their first-ever SAC regular season title. Wingate (8-2 overall, 6-1 SAC) qualifies for the NCAA Division II play-offs for the first time in school history.

On the season, Ellington has a team-best 65 catches for 875 yards. His yardage total is second on the Bulldog receiving list. Ellington has eight receiving touchdowns, placing him third on the team charts. Ellington is fifth in the SAC in receptions per game (6.50). Thanks to the efforts of Ellington and his offensive teammates, Wingate is second in the SAC in total offense (436.4 yards per game).
