Anderson, S.C.----After playing to a 2-2 draw in the first half, Anderson freshman forward
Tapiwa Munetsi (Anderson, S.C.) scored two goals in the second half to give the number six AU Trojans a 4-2 South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer victory over the Wingate Bulldogs Saturday. Anderson completes the regular season 14-3 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. Wingate is 4-11 overall and 2-7 in the SAC.
Anderson got on the board first at the 9:33 mark of the first half when senior midfielder
Mark Smith (London, Engand) netted his first goal of the season on an assist from senior forward
Lasse Sohrweide (Flensburg, Germany). The helper was Sohrweide’s 10th assist of the season. Wingate tied the match nearly seven minutes later as senior midfielder
Fabricio Barancoski (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored his second goal of the season. Barancoski took six shots on the afternoon.

Daniel Bowers (Charleston, S.C.) scored his fifth goal of the 2011 campaign at 25:19 on an assist from Sohrweide. Wingate sophomore midfielder
Gui Andrade (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored his first goal of the season at 29:09 to even the match on an assist from freshman forward and countryman
Fabio Azerado (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Both teams had opportunities to take the lead into halftime but were unable to capitalize on chances.
Munetsi gave Anderson the lead for good with his fifth goal of the season at the 62:03 mark on Bowers third assist of the 2011 campaign. Munetsi give the Trojans some insurance with an unassisted goal at 72:15.

Peter Trask (Alpaus, N.Y.) faced 18 shots and made two saves. Anderson junior keeper
Lukas Hesse (Berlin, Germany) made five saves on 17 shots for his 13th victory of 2011.
Anderson earns the top seed in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference tournament. Wingate will make the tournament with the eighth seed. The Bulldogs and the Trojans will play Tuesday at Anderson (match time TBA).
