St. Augustine, Fla.----The Flagler College Saints scored twice in the opening 10 minutes and added a third goal later in the opening half en route to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Wingate University Bulldogs in NCAA Division II men’s soccer action Sunday afternoon. The Saints improve to 2-1-1 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-3 overall on the season.
Flagler got on the board 9:15 into the opening half, when sophomore forward
Zach Shanahan (Waterford, Ireland) netted his first goal of the season from the right side of the box. Junior midfielder
Joseph Toby (Jacksonville, Fla.) and senior midfielder
Johan Bergfeld (Akers Styckebruk, Sweden) had the assists on the play.
The Saints added another goal 26 seconds later, when Toby scored his third goal of the season to make the score 2-0. Senior forward
Cameron Will (Osteen, Fla.) set up the goal on the play. Flagler added another goal with 10 minutes remaining in the opening half, when senior forward
Mack Hough (St. Augustine, Fla.) headed in a cross from senior midfielder
Pol Berenguer (Barcelona, Spain) to make the margin 3-0. Hough has five goals on the season.
The Saints added a goal with 10 minutes remaining in the second half, when freshman midfielder
Simon Kennell (Tallahassee, Fla.) scored on a cross from freshman forward
Marco Padilla (Bradenton, Fla.) to account for the final margin. Flagler outshot Wingate 22-20 on the afternoon, with each team taking eight shots on goal.

Aaron Beers (Rockledge, Fla.) had three saves for the Saints in the opening half. Freshman
Camp Bissell (Orlando, Fla.) collected five saves in the second half. Senior goalkeeper
Peter Trask (Alpaus, N.Y.) had two saves for the Bulldogs in the opening half. Junior teammate
Julian Garcia (Flowery Branch, Ga.) had two saves in the second half.
Wingate returns to action Saturday, opening South Atlantic Conference play at Mars Hill College. Kick-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. Flagler travels to Georgia Southwestern State University Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference start.
