Box Score Anderson, S.C.----The eighth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs dropped their second consecutive match Saturday, falling 1-0 at Anderson University in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer action. The Trojans improve to 3-8-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the SAC. The Bulldogs are 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the SAC.
The lone goal of the match came in the 30th minute (29:34), when sophomore midfielder
Martin Brain (Beckley, East Sussex, England) scored on a penalty kick for the Trojans. Brain has four goals this season.
Anderson held a decisive 7-1 advantage in shots in the opening half, while the Trojans had the only shot on goal. Wingate outshot Anderson 4-3 in the second half, holding a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal.
