Huge second half helps Bulldogs defeat Brevard 43-12

Brevard, N.C.----Wingate University outscored Brevard College 30-6 in the second half to take a 43-12 South Atlantic Conference football victory Saturday night at Brevard Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs compiled 410 yards total offense in their SAC opener.

Wingate improves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. Brevard falls to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the SAC. The Bulldogs travel to Carson-Newman Thursday night for an 8 p.m. CBS Sports national television game. Brevard visits Tusculum Saturday for a 2 p.m. encounter.

Wingate redshirt senior linebacker Richie Kazazian (Apex, N.C.) returned three fumbles for 117 yards. He scored a touchdown on a 23-yard fumble recovery to open the fourth quarter scoring. Classmate Matthew Sierk (Saluda, N.C.) kicked a career-high three field goals and converted four extra-point attempts.
 
Bulldog redshirt junior quarterback Robbie Nallenweg (Asheville, N.C.) completed 22-of-37 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns. Wingate senior wide receiver Chris Bowden (Forsyth, Ga.) caught seven passes for 74 yards and one TD. Freshman wide receiver Tim Nalesnik (Cary, N.C.) caught his first career touchdown pass Saturday night.
