Newberry, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs notched their fifth consecutive victory Saturday afternoon, prevailing 2-0 at Newberry College in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action. The Bulldogs improve to 10-1-3 overall and 6-1-1 in the SAC. Newberry falls to 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the conference.
All five Wingate victories during the winning streak have been shutouts. The Bulldogs have gone 531 minutes without allowing a goal.

Wingate out-shot the Wolves 7-4 in the opening half, while holding a 3-0 edge in shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes.
The Bulldogs took a two-goal lead four minutes into the second half, with freshman midfielder
Naomi Matley (Clover, S.C.) scoring her second goal of the season, getting the assist from Howell.
Wingate outshot Newberry 14-6 on the afternoon, holding a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper
Ashlyn Hardie (Summerfield, N.C.) registered a save to preserve the shutout. In 780 minutes of action this season, Hardie has allowed just one goal.
Rebecca Darley had five saves for the Wolves.
