Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs snapped the 11-match winning streak of 11th-ranked Queens University Wednesday night, prevailing 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action. The Bulldogs improve to 10-4 overall and 7-2 in the SAC. Queens loses for the first time since its season opening game, falling to 11-2 overall and 8-1 in the conference.
The Bulldogs wasted little time getting on the board, with junior forward
Peron Da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) ripping a left-footer into the back of the net from 30 yards out to make it 1-0. The preseason All-SAC selection has scored a goal in five consecutive games for Wingate, ranking third in the conference with 10 goals on the year.
The Bulldogs took a two-goal lead in the 28th minute. Freshman forward
