Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University women’s basketball team will play its final home game of the 2012-13 season Wednesday, hosting Lincoln Memorial University for a 6 p.m. South Atlantic Conference contest in Cuddy Arena and Thomas Koontz Family Court on the Wingate campus (

Sarah Wollett (Raleigh, N.C.),
Tish Logan (Suitland, Md.) and
Jecia Anderson (San Antonio, Texas) are 37-13 overall at home during the past four seasons.
On Saturday, Brevard hit a season-high 80 points en route to an 80-67 victory over Wingate in Boshamer Gymnasium. The BC Tornados shot a season-best 54.9 percent from the floor against the Bulldogs. Wingate junior forward
Chantal Dunbar (Virginia Beach, Va.) topped the Bulldog charts with 21 points. She also pulled down eight rebounds.
Wollett added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. Bulldog junior guard
Janitsha Williams (Statesville, N.C.) contributed 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Wingate hit 49.1 percent from the floor (26-of-53), the team’s third-best shooting night of the season. The Bulldogs held a 30-18 rebounding advantage and a 15-9 edge in second-chance points.
In the first 2013 meeting between the two teams, Lincoln Memorial used a second-half surge to take a 65-56 victory over Wingate in Tex Turner Arena on Jan. 26. LMU junior guard
Kalasia Green led all scorers with 17 points. Wollett had 13 points for the visiting Bulldogs. Williams and Dunbar recorded 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The LMU bench outscored the Wingate reserves 22-6 in the January match-up. The Railsplitters shot 50 percent in the pivotal second half (14-of-28). The ‘Splitters outrebounded the Bulldogs 42-39, including a 25-17 second-half margin. Wingate was three-of-10 from the free throw line. Lincoln Memorial was 15-of-21 (71.4 percent) from the charity stripe.
Dunbar is the only SAC player averaging a double-double with her 11.3 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per contest. She leads the SAC in rebounding and double-doubles (11). Thanks to the efforts of Dunbar and her teammates, Wingate leads the league in rebounding margin (7.8).
Williams tops the Wingate scoring charts with her 13.3 points per game. She averages 14.1 points per game in SAC play. Wollett (11.5) and freshman forward
Morgan McGee (Durham, N.C.) also score in double digits. McGee’s 10.8 points per game places her third among SAC freshman women’s basketball student-athletes.
Green leads the LMU Railsplitters with her 10.9 points per game average. Senior guard
Kelsey Bradford posts 10.1 points per game. LMU junior guard/forward
MaRanda Boddie fills up her statistics ledger with 9.2 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game and a SAC-best 2.1 blocked shots per game. The Railsplitters lead the league with 3.6 blocked shots per game.
Wingate concludes its regular season Saturday, visiting Carson-Newman for a 2 p.m. contest. The Eagles earned a hard-fought 49-46 victory over Wingate Saturday, Feb. 2. Lincoln Memorial hosts Catawba Saturday at 6 p.m.
