Greeneville, Tenn.----Tusculum College senior guard Kendal Baxter (Sevierville, Tenn.) hit eight three-point field goals and scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Tusculum Pioneers past Wingate University 81-46 on Saturday afternoon in Pioneer Arena. The visiting Bulldogs were paced by freshman forward Morgan McGee’s (Durham, N.C.) 18 points and nine rebounds.
 
The home-standing Pioneers converted 15-of-26 triples on the afternoon. Tusculum shot 53.1 percent in the first half to jump out to a 46-19 halftime advantage. The Pioneers outscored the Bulldogs 31-4 in bench points, with Pioneer junior Nequoiah Anderson (Washington, D.C.) scoring 20 points on eight-of-11 shooting. TC converted 19 Wingate turnovers into 21 points.
 
Wingate junior guard Janitsha Williams (Statesville, N.C.) added 12 points for the Bulldogs on the strength of an eight-of-10 performance from the free throw line. Wingate out-rebounded the Pioneers 40-38 on the afternoon. SAC leading rebounder Chantal Dunbar (Norfolk, Va.) matched McGee with eight boards.
 
Tusculum improves to 13-7 overall on the season and 7-5 in the South Atlantic Conference. Wingate falls to 10-12 overall and 4-8 in league play. The Bulldogs are next in action on Wednesday, returning home to take on Newberry on 6 p.m. TC will travel to Anderson on the same day for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
