Luke Charles (Murphy, N.C.) threw three touchdown passes and the Braves defense recorded eight quarterback sacks Saturday, helping the 16th-ranked hosts to a 38-10 victory over Wingate University at Grace P. Johnson Stadium and Lumbee Guaranty Bank Field on the UNCP campus.

Jason Perry (Denver, N.C.) on a 19-yard scoring play with nine minutes left in the second quarter to make the score 21-0 at halftime.

Jakeem Polk (Lakeland, Fla.) had second quarter interceptions for the visitors. A converted offensive player, Willis notches his first career interception.

Wingate leads the series between the two schools 4-3. The Bulldogs earned a 57-14 victory in the first meeting between the two schools (2007). Wingate also picked up wins in 2008, 2010 and 2011. UNC Pembroke has won the last two meetings between the local rivals.
