FINAL RESULTS
Salisbury, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs finished third at the 2014 SAC Championship meet, which was held Saturday morning in Salisbury. Mars Hill University won its 18th consecutive SAC title, finishing 14 points ahead of second-place Queens. Wingate finished with 136 points, four points ahead of fourth-place Lenoir-Rhyne.

Wingate junior
Michael Hering (Murphy, N.C.) was the top finisher for the Bulldogs. He finished the 8K race with a time of 27:15, placing 16th to earn honorable mention All-SAC honors. Sophomore
Nepolian Patel (Bailey, N.C.) was 22nd with a time of 27:37, while sophomore
Alex Craig (Lenoir, N.C.) finished two spots behind him with a time of 27:45.
Redshirt freshman
Anthony Gaudin (Orleans, France) was 35th, posting a time of 28:13. Freshman
Alex Tidwell (Monroe, N.C.) registered a time of 28:53, good for a 47th place finish.
Lenoir-Rhyne finished just ahead of Anderson, with Lincoln Memorial, Coker and Tusculum rounding out the top eight. Carson-Newman was ninth, followed by Catawba and Newberry.
Felix Duchampt of Queens won the individual title with a time of 25:41, finishing 16 seconds ahead of
Alex Griggs of Mars Hill. The Lions had runners place second, third, fifth, seventh and 10th to win the title. Queens had runners finish first, fourth, sixth and 11th.
Up next for the Bulldogs is the 2014 NCAA Southeast Regionals, taking place Nov. 22 in Montevallo, Ala.
