#12 Bulldogs move to 8-0 with 2-0 win at Lincoln Memorial

Barbourville, Ky.----The 12th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs remained perfect on the season, winning 2-0 at Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action. The Bulldogs improve to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the SAC, while LMU falls to 3-3-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the SAC.

Wingate got on the board with 12 minutes remaining in the first half. 2014 All-SAC and All-Region midfielder Kaitlyn Brunworth (Littleton, Colo.) intercepted a clear from the LMU keeper, scoring from 30 yards out. The 2014 SAC Scholar Athlete has two goals on the year.

The Bulldogs added to their lead in the 63rd minute. Freshman forward Kimmi Moore (Hubert, N.C.) netted her team-best third goal of the year, finding an open ball right in front of the net and scoring to give the 'Dogs a 2-0 lead.

Wingate held a 13-10 advantage in shots on the afternoon, with a 7-2 edge in shots on goal. Each team had three corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Jones (Midway Park, N.C.) had two saves to notch the shutout. Kayla Stephens had three saves for the Railsplitters.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Coker for a 4:30 p.m. start.
