Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University women's basketball team will look to resume its winning ways Wednesday as the Bulldogs host Queens University of Charlotte in a 6 p.m. South Atlantic Conference contest. Wingate hopes to rebound from a tough 68-57 loss to Anderson Saturday. The AU Trojans snapped the Bulldogs' 12-game overall and 14-game conference winning streaks.

On Saturday, post players Andrea Bertrand (Midlothian, Va.) and Morgan McGee (Durham, N.C.) led the visitors with 15 points each. Sophomore guard Shelby Tricoli (Waynesville, N.C.) contributed 11 points. Both Wingate and Anderson earned 11-point home court victories. The Bulldogs defeated the Trojans 59-48 at Wingate in December.

Wingate looks to sweep the season series with the Royals, as the Bulldogs earned a 67-50 decision at Queens on Jan. 14. Bulldog graduate student forward Chantal Dunbar (Virginia Beach, Va.) recorded her 18th career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Wingate cause. Senior guard Kelli Bonner (Yadkinville, N.C.) added 12 points, while Tricoli posted 11 markers. Bonner hit four-of-eight three-point field goals in the road victory.

Bulldog redshirt senior point guard Brittany Hill (Mechanicsville, Va.) flirted with a double-double in the first WU-QU meeting, posting eight points and a game-high six assists. Queens sophomore forward McKell Oliverio (Florence, Ky.) led all scorers with 22 points. Senior forward Lacey Singletary (Burlington, N.C.) added 16 points for the hosts. Oliverio and Singletary hit 15-of-24 field goals; their seven teammates who participated managed to hit only four-of-20 attempts.

Dunbar leads the Bulldogs with her 11.7 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game. She is the top rebounder in the SAC; Newberry senior center Haylee Lepaio (Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia) is second with her 9.5 rebounds per game. In SAC play, Dunbar averages a double-double with 12.3 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Hill leads the SAC with her 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio. Wingate's point guard has 105 assists and only 47 turnovers in a team-best 745 minutes played. Hill tops the Bulldogs charts in steals (63), assists and free throw percentage (87.9), while averaging 5.3 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game.

McGee (10.7 points per game) and Tricoli (10.5 points per game) also contribute double-figure scoring to the Bulldog statistics sheet. Tricoli is third in the SAC with her 46.3 percent three-point field goal shooting accuracy. She has converted 44 triples in 95 attempts this season. Only Bonner (50 triples) has more three-point field goals than Tricoli this year.

Singletary is the top scorer and rebounder for the Royals (5-16 overall, 3-13 SAC), averaging 11.8 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game. Oliverio contributes 9.6 points per game. Queens enters Wednesday night's contest on a five-game losing streak. The Royals' last victory was a 52-50 SAC decision at Lenoir-Rhyne Jan. 21.
